Construction of Local-Shape-Controlled Quartic Generalized Said-Ball Model

Said-Ball curves and surfaces are extensively applied in the realm of geometric modeling. Their appearance is only decided by control points, which produces a great deal inconvenience for shape design sophisticated products. To overcome this defect, we construct novel kind quartic generalized (QGS-Ball, short) surfaces, contain multiple parameters, global local can be easily modified via parameters. The specific research contents as follows: Firstly, QGS-Ball basis functions carrying parameters defined, correlative properties proved. Secondly, curve proposed according to functions, effect on discussed. Thirdly, view constructed curve, further propose combined (CQGS-Ball, curves, deduce conditions first-order second-order continuity (namely, G1 G2 continuity). Finally, surface defined tensor product method, influence analyzed. main contribution article model, joining curves. Combined with some modeling examples, it illustrates that new model provides powerful supplement form computer-aided (CAD) manufacturing (CAM) systems.
